We support and deliver, often 'free of charge' participation in sports and other physical activities by young women aged 14-25 years of age who are from disadvantaged communities.
We collaborate with sports associations, clubs and organisations to run ‘women/girls only’ taster sessions in a wide range of sports and other activities to help women and girls to find an activity they love.
We run and fund sport and activity camps during school holidays to enable girls to participate in a wide range of activities: being active, learning new skills, making new friends and having fun.
We support individual girls and women or the parents or guardians of girls who wish to gain access to coaching courses for individual sports such as horse riding; tennis and golf at a recognised club (or membership to a local sports club).
We fund qualified exercise teachers/instructors and coaches to cover the cost of the provision of exercise classes or leading teams for women and girls 'free of charge'.
Active Plus+ is an AWGF programme that provides a range of age appropriate, exercise classes and physical activities, including Pilates Plus+, swimming classes and Yoga Plus+, for women from 60 years of age and above, including free places or classes for those who are disadvantaged.
Whether it's a single day out in nature, an adventure holiday, or outward bounds or team building course, we want to support more girls and women to experience the physical and mental health benefits of the great outdoors.
We provide funds to cover the cost of equipment needed by women in girls so that they are able to take part in sports and many other physical activities. This includes specialized disability equipment.
We aim to support women and girls who have a form of learning of physical disability to participate in sport and exercise.
